Danse des Sampans” pays tribute to the Far East and to the poetry of traditional sailing vessels drifting with the currents. Born from the collaboration between Casamance and Elsa Jeandedieu, a French decorative painter based in Hong Kong, this wallpanel design combines unique craftsmanship with the artist’s sensitivity. Surrounded by her tools, lime plasters, and natural pigments, Elsa Jeandedieu expresses her passion for material and color through oscillating movements, bringing the design to life. Her work is rendered as a panoramic composition using a 3D embossing process on the sumptuous FIRMINY fabric, woven with a chenille yarn. The palette of natural tones marron glacé, dune, acier, orange brûlée is inspired by ancestral dyeing techniques used for Chinese sails. Made in Italy, “Danse des Sampans” coordinates with the “FIRMINY” velvet and can be matched seamlessly.
