Love Affair: A Textile Adventure Between Pierre Gonalons and MISIA

More than just a “Love Affair” between the designer, Pierre Gonalons, and the editor of exclusive fabrics, MISIA: it is a long and enduring relationship… For this second collaboration, launched during Paris Design Week in September 2023, the "Love Affair" exhibition celebrates the opening of the Galerie Privée Pierre Gonalons, the designer and interior decorator's new space in Paris, in collaboration with MISIA. It presents the designer's most exclusive pieces, in limited or one-off series. The collection will remain permanently in the designer's Paris offices.

Pierre Gonalons, as a lover of textiles, has meticulously selected from MISIA’s exceptional jacquards, velvets and fabrics to create a beautiful aesthetic setting, in harmony with his complete collection. When MISIA first met Pierre Gonalons at the launch of the “Terre des Ocres” collection in 2021, it was love at first sight, the start of a close partnership. The designer was charmed by the extremely high-quality materials, the exceptionally refined creations developed using invaluable expertise, and the bold and free-spirited personality of the MISIA design house.

The “Love Affair” exhibition has been imagined in the style of the 18th century : a small 3-room apartment. The entrance, on the first floor of the Hotel Trudon is designed like a summer house. MISIA’s damask “Eurydice” jacquard forms a magnificent Venetian marquee. The golden highlights of ornamental motifs in Naples Yellow convey its grand and opulent character. The door is lined with the “Caryatide” velvet stripe in tea-rose for the epitome of refinement. In the living room, the “Orchid” and “Calla” armchairs – a new creation inspired by the botanical beauty of a flower petal – are covered in the “Au Mont des Muses” fabrics, a luxurious velvet jacquard with an exceptional touch, embracing their curvaceous contours to create a feeling of warm comfort. To finish, the bedroom boasts a remarkable pairing of a 1950s Italian headboard with the “Obsidienne” textured satin. The different shades selected for this design represent their soft and delicate temperament. An idyllic marriage of major names in design, craftsmanship and the art of decoration, “Love Affair” is an important event, marking a long-lasting collaboration between MISIA and the “galerie privée Pierre Gonalons”… the promise of new discoveries to come for those with a passion for interiors.
